Free Yourself From The Misery Of Candida Overgrowth With This Candida Diet.
Candida Diet To Alleviate Your Symptoms
When you feel great and you have no symptoms that aggravate, you won’t be bothered by an overgrowth of Candida Albicans – a yeast that grows naturally in the colon. The candida yeast co-exists quite happily with the bacteria in the gut.
So long as you enjoy a balanced gut flora all is well. However when the balance is upset unpleasant symptoms follow.
Symptoms include:
Vaginal thrush, oral thrush, digestive upsets
What causes an upset to the gut flora?
Many things can upset this delicate balance such as:
- Stress
- Antibiotic treatment
- Food intolerance
Yeasts thrive on sugar
A candida diet designed to control and reverse candida would give scrupulous attention to the sugar content of the diet.
This makes for a seriously lean and mean diet to bring Candida under control and depending on the severity of your condition would depend how scrupulously you stick to it.
The more self discipline you can muster the more quickly you will see results and the more quickly you will be able to modify your approach.
So let’s cut to the chase.
Include in the Candida diet an abundance of green vegetables.
Greens detoxify and alkalize your system making it hard for candida to grow out of control, since it needs an acidic environment in order to thrive.
Include colorful vegetables that grow above ground, nuts, seeds, soy, eggs, milk, plain unsweetened acidophilus yogurt, fish, lean meat and poultry all preferably free range and / or organic, herbs and spices.
Some herbs such as garlic and oregano have powerful anti-fungal properties. So be sure to include plenty in your diet especially garlic to overcome candida.
Avoid sugar, jam, preserves, honey, maple syrup, fruit, root vegetables, coffee, tea, mushrooms and other fungi, grains including all breads, pasta and breakfast cereals and pulses. Apart from yogurt avoid fermented foods including soy sauce.
The following fruit are allowed sparingly on the the candida diet:

Quick Curried Cauliflower-Ginger Soup
Serves 4 – 6 as a starter
Ingredients:
1 medium onion – chopped
1 small stalk celery – sliced
1 whole medium sized cauliflower – chopped in large chunks
1 piece ginger – peeled and minced
4 cups homemade chicken stock or water, or a combination
½ teaspoon cumin
½ teaspoon coriander
½ teaspoon garam masala
½ teaspoon turmeric
Unrefined sea salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Butter for serving
Chopped dill mint or cilantro for garnish
Preparation:
In a small dish, stir together the cumin, coriander, turmeric and garam masala. Set aside. Place onion, celery, ginger, and liquid in a medium soup pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer 7-8 minutes. Meanwhile heat a small skillet over a medium flame. Add the spice mix and stir with a wooden spoon or spatula to keep it moving over the heat. When it becomes fragrant and barely darker in color remove from the heat and add to the soup, along with the cauliflower. Cover, raise the heat again to boiling, reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. Remove from the stove.
Puree soup until smooth or leave chunky, and ladle into serving bowls, accompanied with a dollop of fresh butter and some
chopped herbs if you like.
